THE PROLOGUE
to Romeo and Juliet, rewritten by me

(enter CHORUS)

Two households, both alike in dignity.
in fair Verona, where we lay our scene,
From ancient amity comes new love,
Whilst one house is assailed with civil blood,
from forth the fatal loins of the foe
Comest a star-cross'd lover, taking life;
Juliet's misadventured sorrows and strife
her love, her home, and her life;
And with her death doth inflame war.

The fearful passage of Romeo's insane love,
Death-marked for him, alas for Juliet!
Is now the two hours traffic of our stage,
The which if you with patient ears attend,
What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend.

(this is assuming that Juliet loves Paris and Romeo ruins her life somehow)

(written 01-29-02)

Glowing

flushed cheeks
rosy month of weeks
rounded water cradle
soft tissue blankets
heartbeat lullaby
no need to cry
so safe place
miracle of grace
like a bubble,
like a case,
serenity,
 peace,
   quiet love.
